About the General Manager |
Howard Johnson grew up in Daytona, Florida, as a strong New York Yankees fan. He played baseball with friends and family all his life, and one day he came across Franchise Ball and decided to sign up and organize a team.
About the Bench CoachAlexander (usually called Alex) Winston was born in Springfield, Illinois. He was always a strategic kid and knew how to beat the toughest teams. He met Howard Johnson and David Smith in 4th grade and they quickly made a good group of pals. Alex always said he never had a favorite team but he does seem to lean towards the Chicago Cubs.

David Smith was born in San Francisco, California. He became involved in baseball when he was taken to a Oakland Athletics game when he was 4 years old, ever since he was a big fan of baseball and the Athletics. he met Howard Johnson when he was in 3rd grade and they both became fast friends, so when Howard created a baseball team, David was quickly made GM. Till this day both of them still dream about their favorite teams, the New York Yankees and the Oakland Athletics meeting up in the World Series.
About the Additional CoachesPitching Coach: Daniel (usually called Danny) Rhodes was born in Cheektowaga, New York, and grew up with to Canadian parents. He loved baseball for as long as he can remember and is to this day a passionate Toronto Blue Jays fan (although he would be a Montreal Expos fan if they still existed). Danny was friends with Alexander Winston since preschool and was introduced to Howard Johnson, and David Smith.
Bullpen Coach: Tommy York was born in Port Orange, Florida. He would always spend his time throwing balls around the house until he broke a vase, then he played outside. He eventually met Howard Johnson in 1st grade and they both started playing baseball together with Tommy usually being the pitcher. As they grew up they played baseball with more and more people until there was so many people that every spot including the coaching positions was filled. Hitting Coach: Jose Dominguez was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico to a larger family. When he was 7 years old, he and his family of 10 other siblings and his parents moved to Pine Hills, Florida. When he was in 5th grade he met Howard Johnson, David Smith, Alexander Winston, Daniel Rhodes, and Tommy York. They started playing baseball with each other and Jose proved to be the best batter and shortstop. Jose's favorite team is the Houston Astros and he is a big fan of Carlos Correra. First Base Coach: John Leonard was born in Key West, Florida. When he was 4 years old he and his family moved to Orlando, Florida. John met Howard Johnson in 1st grade and they had a friendly rivalry since both usually were first baseman, but they eventually lost the rivalry as Howard started being a catcher more often. John is a Miami Marlins fan and hopes to see the Marlins win the World Series one day in person. Third Base Coach: Juan Carlos Velez was born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. He moved to Daytona, Florida with his family and met Howard Johnson in a Tampa Bay Rays vs New York Yankees game, they both ended up talking to each other during the game in Spanish since Juan didn't know English very well at the time and Howard knew Spanish. They reveled that they were both Yankees fans and became good friends. |
